As a member of British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association (BWPDA), our family owned business has been carrying out installations since 1959.
In period homes, the area below the granite entrance steps is often in a very damp condition due to ongoing damp ingress under hydrostatic pressure through the porous granite and joints of the steps. It is becoming more and more popular to convert these areas into habitable areas and in conjunction with cementitious tanking of the space, repointing of the steps using a fibre reinforced non-shrink grout providing a long lasting, crack resistant and aesthetically pleasing finish is also advisable. In some instances, applying a flexible sealant into each joint prior to the re-pointing can also be carried out.
