Cementitious tanking is a waterproofing method that involves applying a cement-based coating to masonry walls and concrete floor slabs. This system is most often used in existing habitable spaces where moisture control is critical. The cementitious mixture, which can be modified with additional additives to enhance flexibility and durability, forms a strong, impermeable barrier once applied via a crystallization process. The coating is typically brushed onto the surface in multiple layers, creating a seamless and crack-resistant barrier.

Cementitious tanking is highly effective at withstanding water pressure and is resistant to both rising damp and hydrostatic pressure, making it a preferred choice for waterproofing in areas prone to high moisture levels. It is also a cost-effective solution that can be applied quickly and is suitable for both new constructions and remedial projects offering long-lasting protection without the need for complex structural alterations.
