Cavity drainage membrane systems are waterproofing solutions commonly used in basement and below-ground construction to manage water ingress. These systems consist of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or similar durable plastic membranes with a studded or dimpled profile that create a controlled cavity between the internal wall and/or floor and the building structure. Water entering the structure is directed through this cavity to a drainage point or sump pump, allowing for safe removal without applying hydrostatic pressure to the internal surfaces.
Cavity drainage membrane systems provide a flexible, reversible solution that accommodates structural movement and is particularly effective in managing moisture in existing or retrofit projects.
